Claas Field Chopper
In the 60’s the trend in the agricultural world was leaning more and more in the direction of the feeding of sweetcorn and silage. The big agricultural manufacturers had to react to this accordingly.
Claas already had a pulled field chopper on the market; the Jaguar 60. Naturally, the demand for a self-driving machine was high, much like it is with all agricultural machinery. An improved model, the Jaguar 60 SF, came onto the market in 1973. Some large businesses and service supply agencies started to buy field choppers from the USA due to the fact that the machinery had to accommodate a higher and more demanding work-load. Therefore, Claas decided to introduce the Jaguar 80, the first model especially adapted for larger businesses, onto the market. Following this, more and more models were introduced onto the market. They impressed with the ever-increasing PS output, which can reach up to 605PS. Additionally, many advantages were to be seen in the cabin of the field chopper. These developments made it possible for the work to be carries out in a comfortable manner. The Jaguar series still remains the only series that Claas offer. However, this series has a great variety of models and has an impressive maximum power output of 884PS. Furthermore, the Jaguar series has a large range of compatible attachments which allows each business to get the most out of their harvest.
