Fendt tractors
In 1929 Hermann Fendt built the first real tractor with the help of his father. Until 1959 they called this type of vehicle ‘Dieselrösser’. This tractor had a 1 cylinder diesel motor which could generate a power of 6PS. Furthermore, it was equipped with a ZF transmission unit and a Sachs clutch. The model Dieselross F18 followed in 1938 and was the first tractor which had pneumatic tyres and a change underload and independent power take-off shaft. However, no one suspected that Fendt would become one of the most important manufacturers of tractors in Germany. The green tractors from the Allgäu quickly made a name for themselves and stood early on for reliability. A further milestone in the Fendt story was the introduction of the Fendt-Farmer range in the 60s and the introduction of the Vario transmission system in 1995. To this day Fendt belongs to the most popular German producers of tractors and is always finding new ways and possibilities to make the work of farmers easier and still more efficient. Fendt has in total 7 different tractor series on the market today. The 200 V/F/P, 200, 300, 400, 714-124, 800 and 900 series are all equipped with the extra Vario which points to the Vario transmission unit. The tractors which back then could generate a power of 6PS now have a performance of up to 390PS/ 287kW (Fendt Vario 939).
